Nissan’s Blancpain Title in the Mirror: Katsumasa Chiyo

Oct. 23 – Yokohama – Nissan claimed the 2015 championship in the Blancpain Endurance Series (BES), and Japanese driver Katsumasa Chiyo was there from the opener at Monza to the season-clinching race at the famed Nurburgring circuit in Germany.

Chiyo, along with drivers Alex Buncombe and Wolfgang Reip, faced strong competition throughout the season, but delivered Nissan’s first BES title. In this video report Chiyo looks back at some key moments in that quest.

With two races left in the Super GT GT300 Class season in Japan, Chiyo and teammates Andre Couto and Ryuichiro Tomita are in first place, meaning the
young driver could claim two titles this year, in addition to joining Buncombe and Reip in victory at Australia’s Bathurst 12 Hours in February.

The next race is Nov.1 at the Autopolis circuit in southern Japan.
