Infiniti wins Big in Britain
July 8- Silverstone, U.K. – A winning performance by Mark Webber at the Silverstone Grand Prix on Sunday, as well as a third place finish by Sebastian Vettel, marked the team’s first double podium finish this Formula 1 season.
Webber now ranks second in driver points to Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, with teammate and reigning world champion Vettel in third place.
The win capped a busy ten days for Infiniti in Britain, starting with the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the two Red Bull drivers switched their F1 cars for Infinitis.
Vettel drove the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition – a car he helped design – up the famed hill, while Webber got behind the wheel of the Emerg-E.
Infiniti parent Nissan Motor also got in the act, providing Red Bull with light commercial vehicles (LCV) to support its F1 program.
The team heads to Hockenheimring next for the German Grand Prix on July 22 to continue its quest for the 2012 championship.
