June 17, 2012
June 17 – Le Mans, France – Father’s Day at Le Mans 2012, and racing legend Martin Brundle and son Alex are keeping Greaves Motorsport all in the family.
The 21-year-old Alex and 53-year-old Martin are joined in their car during the 24-hour endurance test by Spaniard Lucas Ordonez, a team with eyes on a 2012 LMP2 podium.
On Sunday morning, Martin was again at the wheel of their Nissan-powered Zytek Car #42, still in the hunt as two-thirds of the endurance had expired.
When Martin Brundle won the 1990 Le Mans with Jaguar, his wife was pregnant with Alex, but ahead of this year’s race both father and son spoke with the Global Media Center, tel père, tel fils discussing the racing life.
From Le Mans, happy Father’s Day everyone.
