Breaking Away to Nissan of San Francisco
May 21 – San Francisco – Racing greatness was top news in San Francisco earlier this month when riders from the professional RadioShack Nissan Trek cycling team, in town for the Amgen Tour of California, swung by the newly-opened Nissan of San Francisco, owned and operated by another ‘racing’ great, Roger Penske.
“This is a brand new facility. It’s been open for about a month. The Penske organization, as they always do, does everything right and they’ve remodeled an old historic building and turned it into a modern dealership facility, seven stories, over 300 Nissan’s and Infiniti’s on display, it’s just state of the art. It’s really impressive,” said Senior Manager for Nissan promotions Jay Schaffer.
The cycling tour is an eight-day, fast-paced bike race through the coastline, mountains, and green valleys of California. This year’s seventh edition tour ran through May 20. It’s an annual event featuring 16 top professional cycling teams competing for more than 750 miles.
“We have the kick-off event and the racers for the Tour of California right here in the store giving autographs. We’re giving away certain bike gear, some great shirts, also raffling away a Trek bicycle,” said General Manager of Nissan of San Francisco and Infiniti of San Francisco Keith Rey.
